Committee Description
World Health Organization:
The World Health Organization was founded in 1948 to promote health, keep the world safe, and serve the vulnerable. Today, that promise is tested. Despite significant technological advancement, many globally still suffer, unable to receive essential treatment. Delegates are tasked with upholding the WHO’s founding doctrine, eradicating systemic barriers to healthcare and ensuring universal access to aid. A special power to make change has been bestowed upon you, will you use it?

Background Guide
Topics of Debate
Topic A: Treatment in Conflict Zones
Millions worldwide are stranded in conflict zones, their cries for healthcare rarely answered. The WHO is tasked with protecting the vulnerable, but how can they treat the sick when war has made them unreachable? This topic asks delegates to collaborate, bring forth unique ideas, and act to bring healthcare and support to those most in need… before it’s too late.

Topic B: Affordable Vaccine Access Worldwide
As conflicts plague nations worldwide and communicable diseases run rampant, the problem is often not research, but distribution. Despite effective vaccinations to deadly diseases being around for decades, 14.3 million children in 2024 have never been vaccinated. Delegates must find solutions to bring preemptive healthcare from labs to homes globally.
